Rhino Steel Doors Limited Warranty Terms and Conditions
At Rhino Steel Doors, we take pride in manufacturing handcrafted architectural steel products designed for long-term performance. Because every Rhino product is individually fabricated, natural variations are part of the character of handcrafted steelwork.
10-Year Limited Structural Warranty
Rhino Steel Doors provides a ten (10) year limited structural warranty, beginning on the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects affecting the structural integrity of the steel door or window frame, heavy-duty welded hinges, and pivot system. Coverage applies under normal intended use when the product has been properly installed, maintained, and protected from conditions specifically excluded under these Terms.
Rhino exterior steel products are protected with a multi-layer finishing system that includes surface preparation and body filler where appropriate, an anticorrosive zinc-phosphate marine primer, and a durable polyurethane exterior finish designed to enhance resistance to corrosion, moisture, and environmental exposure. Finish and corrosion protection remain subject to the maintenance and environmental conditions described in these Terms.
If Rhino Steel Doors determines that a covered manufacturing defect exists, Rhino Steel Doors, at its sole discretion, will determine the appropriate remedy, which may include repair, providing or fabricating a replacement component, or providing technical guidance for an appropriate corrective solution. Warranty coverage does not include freight, shipping, packaging, crating, removal, installation, reinstallation, third-party labor, contractor charges, or related expenses.
Roller catches, weatherstripping, seals, locks, handles, pulls, electronic components, paint, touch-up materials, and other components subject to normal wear or maintenance are not included in the 10-Year Limited Structural Warranty. Replacement components, maintenance materials, and paint kits may be provided for a fee, along with reasonable technical guidance when appropriate.
Glass supplied by Rhino Steel Doors is covered by a separate one (1) year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in the glass unit, beginning on the date of delivery. For an approved claim, Rhino Steel Doors will determine the appropriate remedy, which may include providing replacement glass or technical guidance. Processing, packaging, crating, freight, shipping, removal, installation, reinstallation, glazing services, third-party labor, equipment, and related expenses are the responsibility of the customer. Breakage, impact damage, improper handling or installation, jobsite damage, structural or building movement, misuse, or other damage unrelated to a manufacturing defect is not covered.
Handcrafted Characteristics
Rhino Steel Doors products are individually handcrafted rather than mass-produced or machine-finished. Cosmetic variations inherent to handcrafted steel fabrication are not considered defects and may include variations in welds, blend lines, steel surfaces, alignment, texture, paint application, finish, color, glass positioning, gaps, and other characteristics resulting from the artisanal fabrication process.
Rhino Steel Doors typically utilizes True Divided Lite construction where appropriate. Depending on product dimensions, design, glass configuration, structural requirements, fabrication considerations, glass size limitations, or other applicable factors, Rhino Steel Doors may use Simulated Divided Lites or larger glass panels at its discretion. The construction method may vary while maintaining the intended architectural appearance, functionality, and overall design of the approved product. The use of Simulated Divided Lites in place of True Divided Lites, when determined appropriate by Rhino Steel Doors, is not considered a manufacturing or design defect.
Cosmetic appearance of steel and glass is evaluated from the product's normal viewing position at a standard distance of six (6) feet under normal lighting conditions. Conditions not readily visible under these conditions are not considered cosmetic manufacturing defects. Flashlights, spotlights, magnification, extreme viewing angles, close-up photography or video, or inspection substantially closer than six (6) feet do not represent normal inspection conditions.
Glass may exhibit inherent characteristics resulting from manufacturing, tempering, fabrication, or assembly, including slight distortion, small inclusions, seeds, bubbles, surface marks, or other subtle imperfections that do not materially affect normal visibility, structural integrity, or intended use. Such characteristics are not considered manufacturing defects when they do not meet the cosmetic defect standard described above.
Scratches, scuffs, paint damage, surface marks, or other cosmetic conditions resulting from shipping, delivery, handling, unpacking, jobsite storage, or installation are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered by the Limited Warranty.
Color appearance may vary depending on lighting, surrounding materials, screens, photographs, digital displays, and handcrafted finish application. Exact color or texture matching cannot be guaranteed.
Customer-Sourced & Specialty Glass Option
Customers may order Rhino Steel Doors products without glass and source glass locally through a qualified glazing company. This option may be appropriate when the customer prefers specialty, custom, or project-specific glass that is not offered or supplied by Rhino Steel Doors.
Rhino Steel Doors may provide preliminary glass dimensions or PDF templates to assist with local sourcing; however, final glass specifications, compatibility, and dimensions must be field-verified by the customer's glazing professional before fabrication or installation. Third-party glass is not covered by the Rhino Steel Doors Limited Warranty, and Rhino Steel Doors is not responsible for its quality, fit, compatibility, performance, breakage, installation, or warranty.
Building Codes and Project Requirements
The buyer, architect, contractor, or other project professional is responsible for determining whether the product complies with applicable building codes, permits, energy requirements, ADA requirements, hurricane requirements, thermal requirements, egress requirements, swing requirements, or other local regulations applicable to the project.
Installation and Site Conditions
Proper installation is required for product performance. When installation is performed by a third party, Rhino Steel Doors is not responsible for damage, improper operation, water infiltration, misalignment, glass damage, scratches, structural movement, or other conditions caused by installation methods, site conditions, framing, rough openings, foundations, building movement, improper leveling, shimming, anchoring, sealing, flashing, or adjustments.
Installation or use of a product constitutes acceptance of its visible condition. Cosmetic or shipping-related claims must be made before installation.
Oversized and custom steel systems may require normal on-site leveling, shimming, calibration, sealing, or adjustment during installation.
Finish and Maintenance
Rhino Steel Doors exterior products receive a multi-layer protective finishing system designed to enhance long-term durability and corrosion resistance. The steel is prepared and body filler may be applied where appropriate to seal and refine fabricated surfaces, followed by an anticorrosive zinc-phosphate marine primer and a durable polyurethane exterior finish. Together, these protective layers improve resistance to corrosion, moisture, abrasion, UV exposure, and normal environmental conditions.
Steel is a durable structural material but requires appropriate maintenance and protection from prolonged moisture and environmental exposure. Paint, coatings, body filler, primer, patina, oxidation finishes, and other surface treatments are maintenance items and are not covered by the 10-Year Limited Structural Warranty. Rust, corrosion, oxidation, discoloration, paint deterioration, or finish changes resulting from water, moisture, humidity, condensation, salt air, saltwater, sprinklers, chemicals, cleaning products, improper maintenance, pressure washing, direct washing with a hose, standing water, or environmental exposure are not considered structural manufacturing defects.
Exterior products require an appropriate architectural overhang or other adequate weather protection to minimize direct and repeated exposure to rain and water. Damage resulting from insufficient weather protection or excessive direct exposure, including rust, corrosion, water infiltration, or finish deterioration, is not covered by the Limited Warranty.
Products must not be stored outdoors while packaged or crated where rain, condensation, or moisture may become trapped inside the packaging. Damage or corrosion resulting from improper storage before installation is not covered. Coastal and saltwater environments accelerate corrosion, and corrosion, oxidation, or finish deterioration caused by coastal, salt-air, saltwater, marine, bay, lagoon, estuary, or similar environmental exposure is not covered.
Periodic inspection, touch-up, and maintenance are required to preserve the finish and protect the steel. Inspection and maintenance are recommended at least every two (2) years, or more frequently depending on environmental exposure and use. Rhino Steel Doors may provide additional paint or maintenance materials for a fee. For projects with elevated corrosion concerns or more demanding environmental conditions, Rhino Steel Doors may offer Type 304 stainless steel construction as a premium upgrade that provides an additional level of inherent corrosion resistance at the substrate itself and, when combined with an appropriate protective finishing system, offers enhanced protection for demanding applications. Availability, suitability, specifications, and pricing are determined by Rhino Steel Doors based on the individual project.
Thermal Insulation
Rhino Steel Doors specializes in handcrafted thermally insulated steel doors and windows. Applicable steel frames can be filled with insulating foam and may be combined with insulated tempered safety glass to improve thermal performance, reduce heat transfer, help minimize condensation, and reduce exterior noise.
Because steel naturally conducts temperature, thermal performance may vary depending on climate, exterior temperature, interior humidity, glass configuration, product design, installation, and site conditions. Under certain environmental conditions, condensation, sweating, or, in extreme climates, frost may occur and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Proper installation, weather sealing, ventilation, and indoor humidity control are important to achieving optimal thermal performance and minimizing condensation.
Custom Products, Returns and Changes
All Rhino Steel Doors products are custom manufactured for individual projects and are therefore non-returnable and non-refundable once fabrication has commenced.
Orders may be cancelled within 3 business days after acceptance without penalty. If custom drawings or design work have been prepared by Rhino prior to cancellation, a design fee of two thousand four hundred dollars per door will apply, in addition to applicable costs for materials, custom fabrication, or other work already performed or committed.
Changes requested after approved shop drawings may result in additional charges and revised production schedules.
Lead times and shipping dates are estimates. Rhino Steel Doors will use commercially reasonable efforts to meet estimated production schedules but is not responsible for delays caused by production conditions, material availability, carriers, suppliers, weather, force majeure, or circumstances outside Rhino Steel Doors' reasonable control.
Payment and Completed Products
Unless otherwise stated in writing, all remaining balances must be paid in full before shipment or release of completed products.
Completed products not accepted or paid for when ready may incur storage charges of $180 per month, per door or unit.
Any additional storage, redelivery, carrier, terminal, or handling fees caused by the customer's inability to receive the product are the customer's responsibility.
Shipping, Inspection and Risk of Loss
Rhino Steel Doors carefully inspects and packages products before shipment.
The customer or consignee must inspect the shipment upon delivery and document any visible damage to the crate or packaging on the carrier's delivery receipt.
Concealed shipping damage must be reported in writing to Rhino Steel Doors within three (3) days of delivery and the original packaging must be retained while the claim is being evaluated. Risk of loss or damage during transportation is subject to the applicable shipping arrangement and carrier terms. Rhino Steel Doors will reasonably assist the customer with a properly documented carrier claim when appropriate.
Damage occurring during offloading, unpacking, jobsite handling, storage, or installation is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Warranty Claims
Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to Rhino Steel Doors and include the customer's name, project information, photographs, videos when appropriate, description of the claimed condition, installation information, and any other documentation reasonably requested by Rhino Steel Doors.
Rhino Steel Doors reserves the right to inspect, remotely evaluate, or request additional documentation before determining whether a condition qualifies under the applicable limited warranty.
No third party may authorize repairs, replacements, credits, reimbursements, or other remedies on behalf of Rhino Steel Doors without Rhino Steel Doors' prior written authorization.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rhino Steel Doors shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use, lost profits, project delays, contractor expenses, or damage to surrounding construction.
Rhino Steel Doors' aggregate liability arising from a product shall not exceed the amount actually paid to Rhino Steel Doors for the affected product.
The remedies provided under this Limited Warranty are in addition to any rights or remedies that may be available to the customer under applicable law.
Warranty Limitations
These warranties apply only to products purchased directly from Rhino Steel Doors and are subject to proper payment, installation, use, maintenance, and compliance with these Terms.
No employee, installer, contractor, dealer, representative, or other person is authorized to modify or expand these warranties unless the modification is expressly approved in writing by Rhino Steel Doors.
Rhino Steel Doors reserves the right to improve products and modify specifications, construction methods, materials, designs, and options without creating an obligation to modify products previously manufactured or sold.
BY ACCEPTING A RHINO STEEL DOORS PROPOSAL OR SIGNING THE APPLICABLE AGREEMENT, THE CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THEY HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND ACCEPT THESE LIMITED WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
